The Earrings Are Off!

After about a year into our relationship, I was still caught in the middle of a crazy love triangle with Leon and Gail.  By this time my patience was completely shot and I was ready to swat that pesky little mosquito into oblivion once and for all.  She had been trying to scare me off from the time she first saw me with Leon because she knew I was a real threat to whatever she had going with him.

They apparently had an on-again-off-again relationship, and I guess she expected to get it back on as usual after their cooling off period.  It was different this time because this time he met me during their last break up and she would soon find out I’m a force to be reckoned with and I don’t quit.

I did not find Gail to be a threat at all.  She was a few years older than Leon and as far as I was concerned, not even in my league.  Sure, she had big tits and was a bit of a challenge because of their history together, but she was certainly no threat; and the time had finally come for me to put an end to all her shenanigans. The final straw for me came when I stopped by Leon’s house one night and had reason to believe she had been there earlier that day.

There was always some telltale sign of her presence because she made sure of it; like the time she sprayed her overbearing Red perfume all over his sheets because she knew he was seeing me too. Or sometimes it was the innocent slip of the tongue by one of Leon’s daughters, who were eight and ten at the time.

“Daddy had to change the sheets today because Gail was sick and peed in the bed.”

Now, we all know that was not pee on them damn sheets!

Whatever it was that gave it away this time, I figured it was Gail calling when I heard the phone ringing not long after I arrived at Leon’s house.  And Leon only confirmed my suspicion when he refused to answer his phone.  I knew what was up and I wasn’t about to let him off that easy; so when I realized he was just gonna ignore the ringing phone, I did what any woman with balls would do. I went for it.

Leon turned a bright shade of guilt when he saw me running to answer the phone in his daughter’s bedroom. Remember, this is 1990 and cell phones hadn’t yet hit the scene so there were regular old house phones in several rooms of his house. Leon didn’t know at that point in our relationship that I don’t wait for permission; I do what the hell I please—especially when I’m pushed.  So ignoring his plea for me to just let the phone ring, I did what I set out to do and answered the damn phone.

“Can I speak to Leon?” The caller asked with a hint of antagonism upon hearing my voice on the other end of the line.

“Hell no!” I politely replied before slamming the phone back into its cradle.

But she wouldn’t take no for an answer and before I released my grip on the handle, the phone rang again.  When I answered this time, Gail was a little more demanding.

“Renee’ put Leon on the damn phone!”

I don’t know who she thought she was dealing with, but I don’t take orders…

“Bitch, if you want to talk to Leon bring your ass over here and talk to him.”

I was determined to get the three of us in the same room together to see how Leon would handle being in the presence of both his women at the same time.  I was tired of him lying to me about the purpose of their continued “friendship”; and I figured the only way to find out which one of us he was fucking and which one he was “loving” was to get us all together in the same room.

I’m not sure if I should even call it love when there was so much betrayal and infidelity going on, but I suspected one of us meant more to him than the other and I wanted Gail to see once and for all it was me who had his heart while she merely maintained a slight hold on his dick.

Gail took me up on my invitation after our bitchy exchange on the phone; and within minutes she was in Leon’s driveway banging at the door.

“Renee’!” “Renee!” “Get out here! Renee!…You told me to come over and I’m here, so what you gon’ do?”

I’m sure Gail was just high off the fumes of her anger and I suspect neither of us knew what we would do next now that the fight was on. But like Gail, I too was reeling from the fumes of rage; so when Leon insisted I not answer the door, I was too upset to oblige. We were in an upstairs bedroom so I ran over to the window overlooking the driveway and in response to Gail’s demand, I yelled back at her…

“Oh, you’re here because I told you to come?!  Well take your stupid ass back home since you’re taking orders from me, Bitch!”

I can only imagine the different scenarios playing out in Leon’s head as he tried to figure a way out of the drama that was unfolding before his eyes. He definitely didn’t want me to go outside and he wasn’t going to let Gail in; and she didn’t seem ready to leave anytime soon. There was no telling how this was going to end; but I was determined to get the three of us in the same room together and, hopefully, put a stop to their not-so-secret rendezvous once and for all.

I stayed near the window, peeking out to see what she was up to; and once I saw that alley cat prowling around my car, I could no longer contain what was left of my composure. I thought she might try to scratch up my car or break out a window. Whatever she had in mind, I wasn’t about to stand by and let her get away with it.  I darted past Leon and ran downstairs, through the kitchen and pantry and out the side door. Leon was right behind me every step of the way.

I was almost face to face with Gail the moment I was outside but before any blows could be thrown, Leon grabbed me and wedged himself between Gail and me and tried to keep us from clawing each other to death.  There was a moment when he was distracted and I was able to slip a swift swing right past him as soon as I saw an opening…

Well, actually my swing didn’t make it past Leon.  He got in the way before my fist reached Gail’s face and I ended up punching him square in the jaw. I didn’t realize I packed that much power in my punch until I saw his glasses flying across the lawn.  And even though I was aiming for Gail’s face, there is no doubt I hit the most deserving target in the driveway that night.

It wasn’t funny at the time, but it sure is funny thinking about it now.  There we were, three adults behaving like idiots and panting like we had just run a marathon after one damn swing.

Gail didn’t get what she came for that night; but when she hopped in her little red Geo and drove off into the moonlight, she at least had a better understanding of who she was fucking with ’cause Nay-Nay don’t play.
