In an old hat box at the top of my closet is where I keep copies of all the letters I have ever written. My letters are my inspiration for Tea Room Diaries. Each story I share in the attic is based on the crazy events of my life during my turbulent two-year courtship beginning in March of 1989. The letters I wrote to my then-fiancé during our many breakups helped me to recall every incident with great detail.

When I tossed my letters into an old hat box, I did so to have them as keepsakes; I never expected them to be my inspiration to write about my life. And although none of the events I write about were funny at the time, they were quite funny in retrospect; and because I now see the humor in all those “Dear John”letters of yesteryear, I decided  to share my memoirs with a twist of humor.
